YouTube Poster

We first broke word of a new Bandai Namco IP a little over a year ago featuring bizarre-looking aliens and heroes/heroines with incredible telekinetic powers. However, as of Q2 of 2021 ramps up, the wait for Scarlet Nexus is almost over. Set for a June 25 release date on all major consoles (excluding the Switch at the time of writing). Scarlet Nexus will see players taking on otherworldly forces known as the “Others” as a member of the OSF (Others Suppression Force) with the power of the mind. Fortunately, that’s not the only thing to look forward to in the coming months if you’re already sold on the world and characters.

The folks over at Anime News Network have confirmed that an anime adaptation of the game will begin airing in Japan starting July 1. Fortunately for audiences on the other side of the river, Funimation will be streaming the Scarlet Nexus anime in the United States and several other regions according to the same source. According to the official show description provided by Funimation, the series will focus on the bond between protagonists Yuito and Kasane.

Solar calendar year 2020: grotesque organisms called Others have begun eating people. To take down this new enemy, the Other Suppression Force is formed. Saved by this elite team as a child, psychokinetic Yuito withstands the training to enlist. On the other hand, prodigy Kasane was scouted for her abilities. But Kasane’s dreams tell her strange things, dragging the two into an unavoidable fate.

Many familiar industry names will be involved in the series, with Hiroyuki Nishimura serving as director. Yoichi Kato, known for his work with Yo-Kai! Watch will be serving as co-writer and script supervisor alongside Toshizo Nemoto, according to Anime News Network.

As usual, Scarlet Nexus is available for pre-order physically and digitally. There is a deluxe physical edition called the Guardians Edition yet , there is a digital deluxe edition that includes several in-game goodies and a digital artbook and soundtrack. If you get the Guardians Edition you get the digital deluxe perks too. In addition, it’s worth noting that a demo of the game will also drop this week on May 21, which will be available to Xbox Series X owners first.
