Last week, Super fans, cosplay enthusiasts and celebrity judges watched as cosplayers from around the world met up in Chicago to participate in the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay. JinxKittie Cosplay, who was the South Africa champion, cosplayed as Blood Priestess Bathory from Cinderys and wowed the audience and judges! The event marked the final stop of the 2019 Reedpop Global Championships of Cosplay competition circuit, which featured regional cosplay champions from around the world.




Runner-ups were Xephyr cosplaying as Moira O’Deorain from Overwatch (who was the US champion) and LeelooKris Cosplay as Lagertha from Vikings (France champion). They split $10,000 in cash and prizes with the winner. This year’s event was truly a global phenomenon as competitors from the United States, China, Austria, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, France, the UK, and South Africa all vied for the Crown. Cosplayers battled in front of judges Ivy Doomkitty, Peppermonster Cosplay and Ginoza Costuming.



“The C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay is the ultimate celebration and recognition of our passionate cosplay community. In the five years that Reedpop has put on this competition, we are more and more astounded by the creativity, craftsmanship, dedication, and skill that these competitors put into their cosplay,” said Kristina Rogers, Event Director, Reedpop. “This year’s contestants brought some of the best creations that we’ve ever seen. We’re really excited to see what next year’s competition holds.”
