We Still Aren’t Done with Frieza

Big time spoiler alert!! Fair warning!! I’m not sure what’s going on with this show anymore. The direction it’s going in is mind blowing, you can tell my guy (Akira Toriyama) the original author is behind the storyline. Yes, Dragon Ball Super started off amazing and just kept on getting better and better. So many unanswered questions from Dragonball Z were getting answers finally. Then these last two weeks’ episodes aired and to me the show took a turn.

Here we have Goku supposedly the mighty protagonist of our show, not only teaming up with everyone’s sworn enemy. He also promised to bring him back to life if he made good on their deal. Are you crazy Goku? Even Vegeta my fav anti-hero, is like Goku you’ve lost your mind. We can not make deals with Frieza!! The one enemy that only has one goal in life and it’s to destroy earth and all your pals and their associates. WHAT?? I’m going to stay strong and keep the faith though.

Toriyama must be trying to finally wrap this entire notion of Frizea up; I’m not sure where he’s going with this. If Frizea fights in the tourney he’ll only get stronger, so I assume one of the gods of the universe will deal with him. Vegeta and Goku are up for the challenge of defeating him again. While they both have gotten stronger since putting Frizea down and going through the Black Goku saga. Still were talking about someone that jumped up to their level in 3-6 months. Come on Toriyama, don’t make this Dragon Ball GT!!

Leave your comments and thoughts below, Thanks!

The OST of My Hero Academia

Isn’t My Hero Academia a great show? What makes this show sooo great? It’s a culmination of a bunch of great parts put together so well. Animation is great, editing is great, art well done, action is great, comedy is great, and finally the music in the background. If you haven’t noticed the original soundtrack for this show it’s stellar. The music is movie quality and it matches with scenes from the show perfectly. It’s moving and invokes certain emotions.

001

Every time I watch an episode, I go man I need this soundtrack. I never get around to it though, or I totally forget. Well, finally I got a hold of it and it’s a great number of tracks. It’s a mix of classical, choir, j-rock, j-pop, and a little trap. For the most part the music is composed and produced by Yuki Hayashi. Hayashi has done great musical work for a ton of Japanese drama shows: Rich Man, Poor Girl, BOSS, and Doctors. He also dips into anime as well for titles such as: Haikyu, Blood Lad, One Piece Film: Gold, and Gundam Build Fighters.

004

Now, I’m thinking up ideas of how to enter rooms to All Might’s theme song lol. HaHaHaHa, don’t worry little Midoriya!! The next time you catch an episode listen for the great music. Come back and drop me a comment or two. I’m so loving this OST on repeat, if you get a chance grab it too.

Gohan Is Back!

Oh, boy!! All spoilers!! Are you caught up in Dragonball Super? You better be! If you still have the bitter taste of how they treated the character Gohan in Dragonball Z after the Cell and Buu Saga. Well heeeeee’sssss Baaaccckkk!! Gohan realized how weak he was versus Frieza in the beginning of Dragonball Super. I mean he couldn’t protect anyone if Goku and Vegeta were away. He almost died, Gohan has never come that close to death. Goku and Vegeta show up though and save the day.

Really, though if you look at Gohan at this stage in his life. He’s super smart and he’s trying to make a living for his family. Dude you’re have alien for crying out loud. You married Videl and have one daughter. Videl’s dad happens to be the richest guy on the planet right next to Bulma. Really, why do you need money or a super elite career?

Mr. Satan

Well, the situation of Earth being all peaceful is over thanks to Goku and Vegeta getting involved with the gods. It’s time to step up Gohan, so he starts training again. He’s basically starting from nothing. He’s lost muscles, power levels, warrior instinct, strength, and then still hasn’t overcome the one crutch even Goku finally overcame. The ability to not take an opponent lightly and utterly crush them. Like father like son they say huh, Son Gohan?

gods of Different Universes

In his bouts of training each person he trains with he opens one of the keys to getting back to that hint hint form he had when he fought Buu. Goku takes him on one of the Universal tournament trips and he tests his ability for the first time in a long time. He doesn’t do very well. More training is needed.  Even Krillin basically out smarts him and takes him out. To which Goku looks on and basically shakes his head, like that’s your level now?

Piccolo

So, stepdad of the universe, Piccolo is like hey let’s go off like in the old days and train. I’m talking we’re going back to ’97 Dragonball Z training. Living in the wilderness and living off the land training. You must remember Saiyans get a Zenkai Boost when taken to their limit, almost to death. Piccolo is thrashing Gohan the entire time, and gets him to Super Saiyan Two, then Piccolo whoops him again. Gohan then goes Mystic/Ultimate, boom we’re back to where he last was.  We get this pause then and Piccolo let’s two of the biggest cats out of the bag.

One, Gohan hasn’t finished an opponent in a long-time. The more power he gets the cockier he gets, it’s something akin to what Goku does. They never outright finish people, either too nice or too cocky. When you have your foot on the throat crush them completely. Two, Piccolo tells him you should be able to move to the next level like everyone else. We’ve seen Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks attain God level and if not God level it’s something unique to their ability.

Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Buu with absorbed Gotenks

What is this level that Gohan can achieve? I’d hope that it’s not just another God level Super Saiyan. While cool, I’d think there’d be something more unique to him. If Mystic/Ultimate is better than him going Super Saiyan, then there must be a better level than Super Saiyan God mode for me. That’s what I’m wishing for, but if not I’m just happy he’s BACK!!

Mid-Season SuperHero Time 2017 Update

What can I say this has been another one of those great seasons of the Super Hero Time television block. The pairing of this season’s Kamen Rider Ex-Aid and Super Sentai’s  Uchuu Sentai KyuuRanger. These shows are going great, great story, great characters, great abilites. This is a grand slam season for Super Hero Time.

It seems we are coming up to the end of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. A lot has happened, a ton of character development and revelations. We still aren’t done yet, it’s almost like they just restarted the show. That’s how good we’re talking Ex-Aid makes me feel. Emu hits level 99 with the ability to rewrite programs and I’m thinking he’s invincible. Guess again, if you’re not watching start now.

KyuuRanger is surprising me every episode or every two episodes. We’re coming up on the middle or climax of the show I believe. This show isn’t close to unraveling some of the mysteries and I have no idea how this is going to work out. Each member has his own talents, cool abilities, and they really work as a team. They’re really breaking the mold with this one!!

Silver Fang/Rei & Garo Golden Knight/ ‎Kouga Saejima

Hey, don’t forget about Zero Dragon Blood. It was just 13 episodes so it ended a while ago but it was another good one. I love the Silver Fang in Rei, we see he can turn it up another level. I wonder just how strong he really is, he seems to be right under Garo in turns of strength and power. Catch up with me! I get my Tokusatsu from Tv-Nihon.

Wizard World Saint Louis 2017

Spikey blond hair, with a nice voice, and well dressed, Kato Kaelin is mic’d up on the PA system talking to attendees. He is the radio and entertainment personality guy that became famous after the O.J. Simpson Trial as a witness. He yells, “Hey, are you guys ready to enter Wizard World??” Wizard World the pop-culture event which is held in various cities across America. This edition is Wizard World Saint Louis 2017, at the America’s Center Convention Complex April 7th-9th.

This year there are some big changes from last year or previous years altogether. The Con short for convention is smaller. The big ball rooms aren’t being used this year for panels, the gaming area is half the section it was last year. Panels are being held in smaller adjacent rooms and artist alley while still impressive is missing a third of the floor area. Comments from attendees and artist lead you to believe this is both a plus and a negative.

While there is less booths and attractions, the ability to see and experience all the con is a possibility. Foot traffic has doubled and panels aren’t so overbearingly overlapping each other. Attendees can do the entire con in one day, versus needing all three days to experience everything. Instead of attendees literally having to run to another panel across the hall or debating over two panels which is better to go to. They can enjoy the con more and possibly hit every panel or Q &A Session.

The gaming section was huge last year with games unreleased in the US being playable. Wizard World doesn’t have any of those games or displays this year. The stage was much smaller and not plastered on a huge jumbo-tron screen. Attendees could still enjoy the smaller arcade station area with more older and some 8-bit games. The gaming tournament was still available, but on a much smaller scale; although it still had some of the top gamers from around the world.

Artist Alley was another world, Wizard World brought in some artist that connected with the fans. Artist that worked on projects that adults and young adults love still to this day. Steve Lavigne is the first employee of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and childhood friends with the creators. Kurt Lehner does a ton of art, but most recognized for his character design work on Disney’s TV show Gargoyles. Mat Nastos while an artist in his own right, is most known for is novel-writing and writing for Disney’s Phineas & Ferb. There is many more artist with fabulous art work in attendance.

Attendees were worried when many of the celebrity guest canceled from the con. The last couple weeks before the con Wizard World added some great celebrity guest. It was a saving grace for the fans and attendees. celebs such as Michael Rooker (Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek TV), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things), Randy Orton (WWE Champion), and so many more.

Gene Simmons leader singer of KISS was a guest along with his own band. The addition brought in a niche audience and plenty of memorabilia. Simmons and his band would also perform at the Pageant for an extra fee. Attendees were a little perturbed, that the usual after-party was canceled. The large dance-off where cosplayers unwind from the biggest day of the con on Saturday.

The photo ops and autographs for the celebs was very different this year. Fans could enjoy a more intimate signing with celebs being more visible. Many reactions from passerby fans was all that was needed. Many squeals are being heard and “Oh, gosh!” Celebs like Michael Rooker are walking into the crowd just talking to attendees. The thought of being able to see and possibly touch the celebs was great. McLaughlin met many young adults, some even without a fee. Wizard World Saint Louis was another successful year, and they will be returning next year.

Hello, everyone. I’m not sure if your a follower or subscriber or ocassionally like my blog. I want to say, “I’m sorry.” I haven’t been able to continue my blog like I would like. Life has become a little more hectic. Although in a good way, I’m currently writing and reporting for one of the best newspapers in my state.
